In early March I went to Budapest for a friend's 40th birthday party. It was freezing, but the weather was good for walking, and cake, and coffee, and a bit more walking. And hot baths, for which the city is famous.
I was in Budapest 20 years ago when a friend and I tried to drive to Istanbul - we got stuck in Romania but passed through Budapest. The city is the same, but a bit tidier, with everything looking brushed up and smarter.
Stayed in an AirBnB flat for €60 a night for three of us. Great value. Some pics:
